LAST MOVIES WATCHED

Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Almost three years of waiting were over last thursday. Finally, Episode II is out. And it's another great part to the Star Wars universe to those who've always liked Star Wars. Those who hated it so far are still gona hate it (but who does?). For a Star Wars fan there's nothing much to complain. Alright, the dialogues partly suck. The love story stinks. Hayden Christensen isn't exactly a great actor (but he's a Vancouver homeboy, so it's okay). And the special effects are close to an overkill in parts. Especially when Obi Wan arrives on the planet where the clone army is grown. The creatures there sorta reminded me of the ending of "Contact" with Jodie Foster (one of the movies I hate most). But all this can't really spoil it for a real fan. Boba Fett's back! The great finale is one of the best battle scenes ever seen. So it'll be some long years till Episode III.

RATING:

The Ring

Another "Scream"-like "college-girls-get-butchered" horror thrilla? Well, not exactly. The remake of a 1998 japanese comes with a lot more depth then that. For fans of the genre definetely a must-see. Even the ending - most often the part the spoils most of those movies - is alright and makes you reconsider the movie you just watched. Great!

RATING:

LATEST MUSIC

Not that much interesting coming out lately. Juts gock "METEORA" by Linkin Park, the prequel to "Hybrid theory". Sounds pretty much like the guys have stuck to their guns. Those you've liked the forerunner won't be disappointed.

The second thing is the new "H.I.M." that came out surprisingly early: "Love Metal Ltd.". The first single "Funeral of Hearts" is a typical HIM-song once more. Seems to be little progress sind "Dark Shadows..." and the times of "Your Sweet 666" seem to be gone. Yet, not too bad I guess.
